Outback Spectrum 2-Burner with Roasting Hood. Including beautiful FSC wood trolley with metal legs.

Outback Spectrum 2 Hooded: features a one piece porcelain enamelled hood (factory assembled), which is corrosion and acid resistant, heat and flame proof so won't blister under high temperatures, is easy to clean and is ideal for roasting, grilling or even baking.

Spectrum 2 has a primary cooking area of 47.5 x 42cm. Ideal for family and friends outdoor entertaining. Comprising of two porcelain-coated cast iron grills with easy clean pull out drip tray. The warming rack provides extra space, ideal for your cooked food. This popular sized barbecue has two robust stainless steel propane gas burners started at the push of a button with Integra spark rotary ignition.

The Spectrum 2 comes with new Flavouriser bars (not the traditional lava rock).
What are flavouriser bars? Flavouriser bars are used instead of lava rock. They fit above the stainless steel burners and under the grill top. They aid the distribution of heat. They are also designed to channel away excess grease and avoid bad flare-ups. Fat and juices drip from cooked meat, hits the Flavouriser bars and vaporises into smoke and steam which flavours the food on the grill.

Outback hooded models are so versatile, the roasting hood allows you to cook with the hood down. Or use with Outback battery operated rotisserie. Or use a smoker box with herbs or flavoured chips, (rotisserie and smoker boxes available as optional extras).

Wondering whether to buy a flatbed or a hooded barbecue?

We would highly recommend a hooded barbecue!

1. A HOODED BARBECUE (with roasting hood/lid), allows food to be cooked at a more even temperature while cooking with the (hooded) lid closed. Outback Roasting Hoods are fitted with a heat indicator ensuring the correct cooking temperatures are reached = SAFER, healthy barbecued food for you and your family.

2. Optional Extra : BATTERY POWERED ROTISSERIE may be easily fitted for larger pieces of meat or whole chickens. Food is cooked with the Roasting Hood down, prior to finishing off with the hood open.

3. Optional Extra : SMOKER BOX and Flavoured Chips or Herbs produces delicious smokey/flavoured food.
Smoker boxes are filled with the flavouring of your choice, then placed directly above the heat source, food is barbecued above, on the grills as normal.
Smokers work best for fatty meats, such as pork ribs and chicken thighs. As the food cooks at a low temperature within the bbq hood, the fat melts away, basting the meat as it goes. What you're left with is not greasy, but rich and flavourful.

4. Food can easily to be kept hot under the hood using a warming rack.

5. The barbecue is easily covered or shielded from showers or windy weather.

6. Food can be kept safely out of the way of insects etc.,
